This coffee comes from the indigenous group of Ingas, a pre-Colombian ethnic group related to the Incas. The Aponte region is located in the Narino department that sits at around 1900 meters above sea level. The land where the coffee is grown is owned by the community but the individuals are each in charge of their own parts. All of the coffee in the region is honey processed by the farmers themselves rather than sent to a processing facility.

This lot produced some complex fruity notes. We notice notes of sweeter fruits but more subdued flavors rather than bright. There's citrus notes but more sweet and rich like a dried orange or prune. But overall there's a smooth dark chocolate body and a creamyness as if there was almond butter swirled throughout.
